I'm one person and read every message. Expect a reply within 2-3 days.
Open iOS Settings → The Dread Directory → Location → and switch to "Always". The app needs background location access to ping you when the app is closed. Also confirm Notifications are enabled for the app in Settings.
The directory is still being built. Some areas have many sites, others have very few. If your area is empty, that's where you come in — submit a Dread Location you know about so the next person finds it.
You have to be physically on-site. The app requires GPS verification within 100 meters and an on-site photo to keep the directory honest. Open the app at the location, tap the Submit button on the home screen, and follow the steps.
Every submission goes through manual review for accuracy and content moderation. Approval can take a few days. If your submission was rejected and you think it shouldn't have been, email me and I'll take another look.
Open the app → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your handle, all your posts, comments, submitted sites, and likes. It cannot be undone.
Yes. No ads, no paywalls, no subscriptions. If you want to support development, there's a donation link in the About section of the app.
Tap the ⋯ icon on any post or comment in DreadFeed to report it or block the user. Reports go to manual review.
The app stores only your handle, your sites, your posts, your comments, your likes, and the device ID that owns your handle. No email, no real name, no contacts. Sign in with Apple gives you the option to hide your email from the app entirely.
