Horror Trivia By Sinister · Last updated April 18, 2026

This privacy policy describes how the mobile application Horror Trivia By Sinister ("the App," "we," "our") handles information when you use it.

Summary

We designed the App to collect as little information as possible. We do not sell your data, show third-party ads, or track you across other apps or websites. We do not know your real name, email address, or phone number.

Information We Collect

Display name you choose. When you play the game, you enter a nickname. This nickname is stored so your score can appear on the public leaderboard. You are not required to use your real name and we encourage you not to.

Game scores and activity. Your scores, correct-answer counts, and basic gameplay events are stored so the leaderboard and "Current Horror Master" features work.

Automatic technical data via Firebase. The App uses Google's Firebase service to store questions and leaderboard data. Firebase receives standard technical information with each request, which may include your device's IP address and a Firebase-assigned installation identifier. We do not use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or Authentication with personal identifiers. Firebase's own privacy practices are described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

What We Do NOT Collect

How Information Is Used

Information we collect is used only to operate the game: to display leaderboards, maintain the "Current Horror Master" badge, and keep the service running. We do not use your information for advertising or marketing, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.

Children's Privacy

The App contains horror-themed trivia about slasher films and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us at the email below and we will delete it.

Your Choices

You can stop using the App at any time. Because the App does not associate nicknames with real identities, we may be unable to locate or delete a specific past score unless you can identify the exact nickname and approximate time it was recorded. To request deletion of a nickname's entries from the leaderboard, contact us at the email below.

Data Retention

Leaderboard entries and scores are retained indefinitely so historical rankings remain visible. You may request deletion of entries tied to a specific nickname as described above.

Security

Data in transit between the App and Firebase is encrypted using HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
